Innermost Gardens, a Wellington community gardening organization, is seeking a new site for its Newtown garden. Ideally they are looking for somewhere fairly flat, sunny (North-facing) and accessible to the public. The next meeting of the Newtown Residents’ Association will be held on Monday 18th June 2012 at Newtown Hall, Daniell St (opposite Mediterranean Warehouse) at 7.30pm
The Awards were made to a group of the core Newtown Festival organisers past and present – James Coyle, Peter Frater, Martin Hanley and Anna Kemble Welch. The awards were presented by Mayor Celia Wade-Brown at the Council Meeting on 22 May.
A public meeting on Local Government Reform will be held 7.00pm Tuesday 5th June at Newtown Hall, 5 Daniell St. This has been called by Hon Annette King, Cr Paul Eagle and Cr Daran Ponter.

The major upgrade of the intersection starts this week. This will involve road widening, the creation of an extra lanes and upgraded traffic lights.
