Everyone is welcome to our AGM, but if you would like to vote on any motions, or to nominate someone for an Executive position, or be nominated, you need to be a financial member of the Association. Our membership year started on July 1st. If you want to join, or need to renew your membership, here is the link to the membership form. There will also be paper forms at the meeting. This is the first AGM since the Newtown Residents’ Association re-registered as an Incorporated Society under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, with a new Constitution. This means that there is more formality to the process of electing Association Officers – nominees now need to consent in writing to be officers, and have to certify that they aren’t disqualified from holding office. This is the relevant form – which includes details of what will disqualify a candidate.
