A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of the Newtown Residents Association will be held on WEDNESDAY 20 OCTOBER 2010 at the Newtown Community & Cultural Centre (Cnr Rintoul and Colombo Streets, Newtown) at 7.30pm

The purpose of the Special General Meeting is to discuss and approve amendments to the constitution for the Newtown Residents’ Assn Inc. The amendments are required by the IRD to amend the Constitution to add another clause to its rules stating that:

  • NRA’s funds must be applied wholly or principally to charitable, benevolent, philanthropic or cultural purposes in New Zealand

It is expected that the meeting will be short but we do need people to attend. The SGM has been called to comply with the relevant sections of the Constitution that was approved earlier this year.

Good Morning everyone,

I would like to remind all of you that there will be a public meeting to promote Community Patrols with the intention of setting them up in the Eastern Suburbs.

An information meeting that will be open to the public to inform any interested persons about the possibility of setting up a Community Patrols has been scheduled for mid November. This meeting will be held at Evans Bay Intermediate School on Tuesday the 16th of November 2010 at 7pm.

The meeting will take about one hour. It will include a presentation about how Community Patrols work and what being a volunteer for a patrol might look like. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

While the intention is to look at the Eastern Suburbs I would encourage anyone who has an interest in Community Patrols to attend. To that end I would appreciate it if you could forward this information to any party you think may be interested.

19th July 2010 : Special General Meeting

Next Meeting of the Newtown Residents Association will be a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING and will be held on Monday 19 July 2010 at the Newtown Hall, Daniell St (Opposite Mediterranean Warehouse) at 7.30pm

The purpose of the Special General Meeting is to discuss and approve amendments to the constitution effectively giving a new Constitution for the Newtown Residents’ Assn Inc. The amendments are design to comply with Inland Revenue Department Donee status requirements and to update to reflect current practices.
